2 REASONS YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD MIGHT BE YOUR GREATEST MISSION FIELD:

PROXIMITY:
Nearness fosters connection. We're about 3 times more likely to connect with our neighbors face to face than by phone, email, or text.1 So next time you have the opportunity to roll down your window and ask your neighbor about their day or chat over the fence, know that you are making an impact for the Kingdom in your own backyard!

Are you missing the mission field in front of you?

TRUST:
Your neighbors probably trust you more than you think. About 2/3 of Americans who know their neighbors would trust them with their house keys.2 The trust that we foster with those around us is key when you are in the mission field because we are representing Christ—as 2 Corinthians 5:20 says, "We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us."

3 WAYS TO LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR THIS WEEK:

  1. Find a practical way to serve them.
  2. Get to know them over a meal, a walk, a porch conversation, or a project.
  3. Ask how you can pray for them.

You truly don't know how your acts of kindness in Christ can alter someone's eternity. Ash from the UK shares how he came to Christ through his tenants:

"I bought a house in London and had some tenants who were very kind. They paid their rent on time, they cleaned the house. . . . It was their love, peace, and joy that [ultimately] led me to accept Christ as my Savior."

START TODAY BY PRAYING FOR YOUR NEIGHBORS:

As believers, it is our calling, our duty, our mission, to share the Truth of the Gospel with those who have not heard it—as you prepare to make your neighborhood your mission field, ask the Lord for His guidance.

Father, I pray for my neighbors who don't know You. Reveal Yourself to them and show me practical ways I can be Your hands and feet to them, even if it is inconvenient. Speak, serve, and love through me so that my neighbors would be drawn to You. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
