NEW! FOR YOUR GIFT OF ANY AMOUNT

In this season, when passions are on parade and we feel the pressure of all those vying for our vote, we are called to turn to the One who truly holds our nation in His hands. Let's spend some time pleading with the Lord for our nation. And let's ask Him to start with us before we step up to that ballot box.

Here are some prayer points to guide you:

Let’s spend some time pleading with the Lord for our nation.

1) PRAYER FOR REPENTANCE

"Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin condemns any people." – Proverbs 14:34

Lord, we humbly repent and ask You to lead this nation. Forgive us and lead us to virtue and Truth. Show us how You would have us love You and our fellow Americans during this time.

2) PRAYER FOR HUMILITY:

"Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God." – Romans 13:1

Father, may I not become puffed up in my political views. You alone are all-knowing, all-wise, and all-loving; Your will is perfect. May I not see the outcome of this election as either a win or a loss. Help me to respond to the results with humility and grace toward others and trust that You are in control.

3) PRAYER FOR THE ELECTION:

"I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness." – 1 Timothy 2:1-2

God, I trust You. You know whom You would have lead this nation and bring about Your purposes. Help me to honor You as I seek what is the best for this nation at this time. Lord, Your will be done in this country!

4) PRAYER FOR UNITY:

"Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and always to be gentle toward everyone." – Titus 3:1-2

God, I ask that Your Spirit would work in the hearts of the people of this nation. Give us a longing for peace—for peace with You and with one another. When we disagree, give us the strength to be respectful and meek. May justice and righteousness be the pursuit of this nation. Grant our leaders wisdom, honesty, and humility. I pray in the name of Jesus, amen.
