A SMALL MOMENT WITH A LARGE IMPACT: ONE FAMILY SHARES THEIR STORY

"I am Lois's daughter, Jan. I would like to share how much Dr. Michael Youssef has meant to my mother. She is 93 years old and my father, Boyd, is 95. They have been watching Dr. Youssef on TV for a number of years now, as well as supporting the ministry financially. Several months ago, both Lois and Boyd contracted COVID-19 in their assisted living facility. They both had severe cases, with Boyd experiencing kidney failure and Lois fighting double pneumonia.

"In her hour of despair, she was given hope by receiving your kind, uplifting words."

"Through the grace of God, they both survived. However, the disease left Lois with incredible inflammation and pneumonia that the doctors have been unable to cure. She has been in and out of the hospital [multiple] times . . . . The disease and the accompanying isolation have [also] taken a tragic toll on her. She has been so distraught over being separated from her loved ones.

"Recently, I noticed she had received her copy of MY Journal in the mail. I took it to the nursing home where she was temporarily living and asked the nurse to deliver it to her room. The next day I visited with her through her window. She held up MY Journal and began to cry. She said, "This is from Michael Youssef, one of my oldest and dearest friends. It so good to hear from him!" I noticed she had circled Dr. Youssef's picture in the front and had written in large letters, "Thank you!"

"In her hour of despair, she was given hope by receiving your kind, uplifting words. Please pray for her as the lingering effects of this terrible disease are taking such a toll on her. Bless you for the work you do. You never know how such a small thing can affect someone's life."
