Exercise: Whose Voice Are You Listening To?

Whenever you attempt to do something great for God, whenever you begin to move forward in faith to do something of eternal significance, you are going to hear three voices:

When has God wanted you to move forward, but you have taken counsel of your fears and turned back?

First, you will hear the voice of the devil, who will say to you in the moment, "Retreat. Go back. Give up. Give in. You will not succeed. You cannot make a difference."
Second, you will hear your own voice, which will say to you, "Stand still. Look for a way out."
Third and most importantly, you will hear the voice of God. He will say to you, "Go forward. Trust Me. Be of good courage. Lean on Me. Listen to Me. Call upon Me in the day of battle."

As you listen to the Lord’s voice and obediently follow Him, He will lead you to great victories for His name.

Take some time now and reflect: When has God wanted you to move forward, but you have taken counsel of your fears and turned back?

Do not be discouraged. Resolve today to learn from the past, listen for His voice, and move forward in faith!

Jesus Christ can bring you true peace. Will you come to Him today?
