His Second Coming

End Times

September 15, 2026

By Dr. Michael Youssef · 3M Read

  • Scripture:
While many try to ignore Jesus, when He returns in power and might, this will be impossible.

The book of Revelation tells us about Jesus, the glorified, returning King. He will wear many crowns as the conqueror of sin and Satan and as the eternal King of kings. His diadems will testify that He has no rivals.

While many try to ignore Jesus, when He returns in power and might, this will be impossible. Jesus’ first coming was in humility. He was crucified on a Roman cross to save all who would believe in Him. But in His second coming, He will return in His full glory.

At the cross, He was led like a sheep to the slaughter. At His return, King Jesus will lead the victorious parade of His faithful soldiers. In His first coming, He wore a crown of thorns. In His second coming, He will be crowned with many crowns.

Our Savior is the King of kings who reigns and rules the entire universe. He is superior in His nature, infinite in His wisdom, mighty in His reign. He is from everlasting to everlasting. He is worthy, and His people should be occupied with His work, expecting and joyfully anticipating His glorious return.

Indeed, those who truly believe in the imminence of Jesus’ return are compelled to work longer and harder than ever before—to give more of ourselves, grasping the wonder of all that we will gain as children of God. So may every relationship we build, every service we offer, every decision we make, be motivated by the desire to honor Christ. If we really love Christ and His appearing, we should be all in, remembering that He has gone to prepare a place for us and will return to bring us home.

For, Jesus’ first coming was like a down payment. His second coming is like the closing. His first coming was like the engagement of a couple. His second coming is the wedding day. So let your destination in the presence of God for eternity be your ultimate goal, your vision, your purpose for living. As you do, the trials of life will lose their power, and you’ll experience the peace of Christ that transcends understanding.

Prayer: King of kings and Lord of lords, forgive me for the times when I have forgotten Your majesty. Each day may I remember who You are and invite You to be the King of my life. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
